As Harlow & Dahlia Events expands, we are looking to hire an energetic, cheerful and organized, detail-oriented wedding planner ideally based in Vermont but open to applicants from Boston, NH or other nearby New England regions willing to travel to Vermont on an on-going basis.

The Event Planner will independently lead clients in planning and executing successful weddings. Must have at least 2+ years in a prior event & wedding planning functions or role.

The ideal candidate will be a self-driven individual with a seasoned background in events and a strong passion for weddings and events looking to grow with the company.

We are seeking someone who ismethodical, quick and stress free at handling difficult or stressful situations. We are looking for someone who can take the lead, be prompt in responses and have a positive personality with an understanding of the complex nature of the events industry.

Wedding Planner Responsibilities:
  • Conducting initial consultations with clients to discuss the the type of wedding desired and their wedding budget.
  • Manage internal event team including design, production and status as well as event assistants
  • Develop and maintain high level contact with new and existing clients
  • Conferring with clients to discuss wedding details, including venue options as well as entertainment, catering, and decoration preferences.
  • Scheduling meetings with clients to tour suitable wedding venues and meet with vendors, such as florists, photographers, caterers, bakers, and invitation designers.
  • Negotiating contracts with selected vendors and making payments as required.
  • Ensuring that wedding and rehearsal dinner invitations, as well as wedding programs and place cards, are printed on time.
  • Arranging for necessary wedding supplies and equipment to be transported to the wedding venue in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that clients' wedding gifts and personal property are packed away and secured in an assigned vehicle or storage room.
  • Monitoring all wedding-day activities to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
  • Executing efforts for event style and design concepts alongside the The Creative Director's direction
  • The wedding planner's responsibilities also include obtaining quotes from vendors, ensuring that budget changes are incorporated into clients' wedding plans accordingly, and collecting payments from clients for the services provided. You should also be able to create a time-line of all wedding-day activities for each client to ensure that everything remains on schedule.
  • Work on event design's under direction of Creative Director
Wedding Planner Requirements:
  • Must have 2+ years in the events or wedding industry in a wedding planning role.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong networking and negotiating skills.
  • Strong leadership skills. We are looking for a go-getter than can take leadership and ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
  • Positive demeanor with a "glass is half full" type outlook that can easily find solutions when needed.
  • You are self motivated with a heart for excellent service.
  • You are prepared to be emotionally engaged to our client's projects with an understanding of the crucial role the events play in our client's lives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and work closely with teams. Ability to respond to potential clients immediately.
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and creative.
  • Opportunity for full time or part time opportunities.
  • Weekend, night time availability A MUST, many of our clients require communication on evenings.
  • Travel is also a must for this role.
  • Willingness to work continuous weekends during the events busy season a MUST.
  • This is a hybrid role with remote and on site work.
