German‑Speaking Flight Attendant

At United Airlines, we don’t just connect cities – we connect cultures and create possibilities. As the world’s largest airline, our network spans the globe, offering unparalleled opportunities for those with a passion for people and travel. We are now seeking enthusiastic, service‑oriented individuals with fluency in German to join our renowned inflight team. No prior aviation experience or specialized degree is required.

We believe in potential and provide the best comprehensive training in the industry to set you up for success.

Training & Placement

Your adventure begins with our immersive 6.5‑week Initial Training program in Houston, Texas. You will master United’s world‑class safety and service protocols under expert instructors. During training you will be assigned your home base. As a German‑speaking attendant you will likely be based at one of our key international gateways, such as:
Newark, New Jersey;
Washington Dulles, Virginia;
Chicago, Illinois;
San Francisco, California;
Denver, Colorado;
Houston, Texas. Please note that relocation expenses are not provided. United supports you during training with a weekly stipend of $140, shared hotel accommodations, and two meals provided daily. Upon successful graduation and completion of base orientation you will officially become a full‑time United Flight Attendant and receive a $1,000 training completion bonus.

  • Representing the United brand with pride, professionalism, and a spirit of fun.
Requirements
  • Be 21 years of age or older.

  • Speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Speak, read, and write German fluently.
  • Have a valid U.S. passport (or foreign passport with appropriate U.S. work authorization/visas) in your physical possession at the time of application, with at least 18 months of validity.
  • Ability to travel globally without restrictions is mandatory.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Meet all physical requirements, including ability to lift heavy items, push/pull a service cart (up to 250 lbs.), and reach overhead bins.
  • Pass a functional reach test of 76" vertical and 43.5" horizontal reach simultaneously.
  • Comfort with serving food and beverages, including alcohol.
  • Adhere to our professional appearance standards, including specific guidelines on uniforms, grooming, and visible tattoos (permitted if not larger than a credit card and non‑offensive; not permitted on head, neck, or hands).
  • Successfully pass a comprehensive 10‑year background check, DOT/FAA drug screening, fingerprinting, and medical evaluation, including vision and hearing tests.
