Responsibilities
- Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software to produce detailed 2D/3D drawings, floor plans, elevations, and cross-sections
- Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers and architects to understand project requirements and incorporate feedback
- Help design products with engineering and manufacturing techniques
- Add details to architectural plans from their knowledge of building techniques
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers and architects
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products
- Modify existing product drawings that might require an update to add new features or have a different physical appearance
- Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, building codes, and project specific guidelines
- Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance
- Work under the supervision of Sr. Leadership
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in drafting, architecture, engineering or a related field
- 3-5 years of demonstrable experience as a drafter in a reputed firm, with a strong portfolio of accurate and detailed technical drawings
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, or similar) and the ability to produce high-quality drawings
- Strong attention to detail and precision in drafting, ensuring that all dimensions and specifications are accurate
- Familiarity with construction and manufacturing processes with an understanding of design standards, symbols and drafting conventions in The United States
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with project stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions to design challenges
- Additional certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus
$60,000 – $70,000 Annually
Work HoursThis is a full-time position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
