Position OverviewThe Medical Director leads and oversees all medical care provided to Welbe Health participants. This role is also accountable for the development, maintenance, and oversight of the Welbe Health Quality Improvement (QI) program, and all medical policies, procedures, standards, and protocols. The Medical Director oversees the contracted specialty network of services and provides leadership among staff, colleagues, and providers in the community.
As necessary, the Medical Director also provides direct care as a PACE Physician.

- Develop and maintain written objectives, policies, procedure manuals, organizational plans, and quality assurance programs for the medical service, reviewing all medical policies and procedures at least annually, as well as develop medical staff bylaws, in cooperation with the medical staff
- Participate in planning and budgeting for the medical service
- Coordinate and integrate the medical service with other participant care services to provide a continuum of care
- Ensure medical staffing patterns are implemented
- Assist in developing and maintaining written job descriptions for the medical staff, participating in the review of credentials and delineation of privileges of medical staff, and assigning duties based upon education, training, competencies, and job descriptions
- Recruit, train, and supervise (including PACE orientation and competency testing) PACE Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, community‑based PACE Physicians and other contracted medical staff, and participate in staff orientation and education activities
- Approve the contents, locations, and frequency of checking contents, including expiration dates, emergency kits or carts, equipment, and supplies, as well as assigning responsibility for these checks
- Successful completion of a residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or approved by the American Osteopathic Association in a medical specialty related to services provided by the facility, or a diplomate of one (1) of the certifying boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties or of the American Osteopathic Association in a medical specialty related to services provided by the facility
- Board certification in internal medicine, family practice, emergency medicine, or geriatrics preferred
- Active state physician license without restrictions
- State CDS certification and active DEA registration
- Must be currently enrolled or eligible for enrollment to provide services to Medicare participants
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
- Current knowledge of chronic care, geriatric issues, and best practices; working knowledge of PACE regulations preferred
- Experience leading in a data‑driven organization, leveraging reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects
Salary/Wage base range for this role is $300,000 - $363,000 / year + Bonus. Welbe Health offers a competitive total rewards package that includes 401(k) match, healthcare coverage, and a broad range of other benefits. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other qualifications.
