Instructional Floater MISSION:
The mission of Marion P. Thomas Charter School is to build culturally rich, transformative educational spaces that cultivate successful, lifelong innovators who use their passions, character, and intellect to better themselves, the greater Newark community, and the world beyond. WHO YOU ARE:
As an instructional floater, your key role involves providing support to classroom instruction, seamlessly in the absence of the lead teacher or as needed throughout the day. We're looking for individuals who embody enthusiasm, warmth, and experience, and can smoothly adapt to different class assignments throughout the day. Proficiency in both oral and written communication is essential for fostering productive interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.

Furthermore, it's vital to maintain a comprehensive understanding of and adhere strictly to all district policies and requirements. Do you have what it takes?

* Education and Experience:

Possess a valid New Jersey Substitute License OR a valid New Jersey teacher certification

THE ROLE:

* Implements the instructional plans prepared by the teacher. When in long-term placement, create instructional plans in accordance with the district curriculum.
* Maintains a classroom climate that is conducive to learning.
* Maintains reasonable rules of conduct that encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
* Adheres to the policies and procedures as established by the Board of Education and Administration in written or verbal form.
* Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
* Maintains records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
* Serves as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism that includes a positive attitude, positive and respectful communication, and professional appearance.
* Meets accepted standards of professional behavior.
* Communicates effectively with parents when needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the administration or required for the effective implementation of District goals, objectives, programs, and policies.

* Salary range: $35,000- $42,000
