Social Worker 2 (Pending availability of funds and Board of Education approval)

Under the authority of the Superintendent, the Social Worker 2 will apply for the position described below.
Qualifications and Requirements- An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate or eligibility for an Emergency license as deemed necessary by https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, unless otherwise specified by the New Jersey Department of Education.
- Consult with supervisors, resource teacher/coordinators and/or classroom teachers regarding students identified as at‑risk through the administration of the chosen screening instrument.
- Confer with and support master teachers and preschool classroom teachers in planning strategies, adapting teaching practices and making modifications that will assist the children in meeting the Teaching and Learning Expectations:
Standards of Quality. - Conduct regular, periodic visits to classrooms to observe and model appropriate strategies and interventions.
- Observe, provide feedback, and make recommendations regarding application of strategies, classroom modifications, and the selection of adaptive materials and equipment for use in the classroom and other learning environments.
- Plan and implement professional development for special education teachers, master teachers, assistants, and administrators to facilitate preschool inclusion.
- Coordinate meetings in which professionals in all disciplines and families, when appropriate, have the opportunity to consult, collaborate and plan as a team.
- Assist teachers and master teachers with strategies for involving and educating families.
- Gather data related to the performance of identified youngsters through interview of students, parents, school staff and contact with social service, mental health agencies, hospital centres and other individuals and agencies having knowledge the student.
- Generate written professional reports.
- Participate in Child Study Team meetings as requested.
- Serve as a resource to families, students and school/center staff to assist in dissemination of information, referral for services and development of program planning.
- Monitor the progress of pupils with their jurisdiction.
- Coordinate and foster positive relationships among staff, school administrators, centre directors, teachers, students, parents and family workers.
- Maintain and report at required intervals accurate statistical data related to productivity and case responsibilities.
- Perform additional or alternative duties within the scope of employment, and certification.
Principal
Salary, Terms & Affiliation- Salary: $67,000 – $111,625
