Middle School (6-8) History and Bible (6-7) Teacher Opening for  School Year

Newton, New Jersey

Northwest Christian School is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and passionate Middle School History and Bible teacher for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The ideal candidates will have the ability to model and demonstrate a Biblical worldview.

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Education. Experience with teaching middle school History and Bible concepts desired.
• Current educator’s license preferred (any US state)
• Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Certification a plus.
• Experience teaching in a classroom, preferably in a Christian School.
• A strong testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, active membership in a local biblically centered evangelical church and committed to modeling and teaching from a Biblical worldview.

• A strong History, Bible, and teaching background and a commitment to working with middle school-aged students.
• Knowledge and expertise with Bible and History pedagogy and effective teaching practices.
• Articulates knowledge of best practices in teaching History and Bible.
• Proficient in integrating the Biblical worldview into instruction.
• Proficient in the use and integration of technology in the classroom, including SMART technology.
• Proficient in the use of differentiated instructional strategies within the classroom.
• Articulates understanding of the unique developmental needs of middle school students.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal skills.
• Knows and applies knowledge of current professional literature and best practices.
• Evidence of excellent verbal communication skills.
• Exhibits strong problem-solving skills.
• Shows skill and sensitivity in working with all members of the school community.
• Willing to contribute regularly to school community activities.
