Role Summary
The Residence Hall Coordinator (RC) is a twelve‑month, live‑in professional position in Residence Life, reporting directly to the Area Coordinator (AC). The RC supervises student staff, manages RA programming, hosts building‑wide initiatives, assists with projects, and participates in on‑call duty rotation. The role focuses on creating inclusive communities through programming, meetings, and one‑to‑one interactions with resident students.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervision
:
Provide supervision to paraprofessional RA staff through weekly staff/individual meetings, ongoing staff development, recognition, and accountability. Assist with departmental RA trainings. - Administrative
:
Review and process all building forms in housing software (overnight guests, lock‑outs, work orders, RA duty logs). Assist departmental communications, respond to emails through residence life, and represent the department at major recruitment events (e.g., Open Houses). - Programming
:
Approve in‑hall programming from RAs, track numbers, forms, budgets, and purchase supplies. Attend evening programming, brainstorm ideas, provide logistical support, and train RAs on event marketing. Collaborate across campus departments to provide quality programming and build‑wide initiatives. - Behavioral Intervention & Management
:
Enforce university community standards by meeting with students violating policy or having difficulty. Use student conduct software to input incidents, send conduct letters, assign charges, and manage on‑call duty. Mediate roommate and community issues, conduct health and safety checks. - Facilities Management
:
Assist with opening/closing residence halls, document damage billing, report building facility issues, and address furniture concerns. Serve as building manager and primary contact.
- 1–3 years of Residence Life experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
Salary Range: $35,568 – $48,277. Exempt.
