Job Description

The Goddard School of West Long Branch is hiring a full‑time Assistant Teacher for various classrooms. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment. Their responsibilities include:

• Understanding and supporting the education program using a learning‑through‑play philosophy
• Interacting closely with children at their level
• Keeping children within sight and sound supervision at all times
• Understanding and complying with the franchisee's employment policies
• Communicating effectively and professionally with school personnel, children, and parents
• Handling crisis situations, including assisting in evacuating the building during emergencies
• Complying in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare

Additional responsibilities may include establishing positive family relations, ensuring an effective program, responding to children's needs, maintaining professional commitment, maintaining safe and sanitary classrooms, supporting each child's social and emotional development, and providing positive guidance.

• Child care experience: 1 year (preferred)
