Job Description

Specific Responsibilities
  • Prepare daily for OSL scholars by creating and maintaining communication systems with on-sight Deans of Students at each campus
  • Create and implement Off-Site learning program that help students reflect on their behavior
  • Manage the On-Site Learning classroom daily, including communicating with teachers, school leaders and families
  • Distribute and monitor work that students are completing during On-Site Learning
  • Assist DOS when no students in On-Site Learning
  • Meet weekly with manager for feedback, goal-setting, coaching/practice, collaboration and problem-solving of discipline issues and concerns
  • Utilize Kickboard and Microsoft Excel to monitor and analyze behavioral data of students. Create action plans to address gaps in data
  • Meet with Deans of Students monthly to collaborate on student action plans
  • Other projects and initiatives as determined by the Principal and Regional Superintendent of Instruction (e.g. on-site student support, collaboration with social workers and SPED coordinators)
Qualifications
  • Unwavering belief in high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.
  • Experience in crisis and change management, leading and/or coaching adults and creating and maintaining whole school systems.
  • Exceptional time and task management skills.
  • Ability to persevere despite uncertainty and unexpected obstacles.
  • Relentless drive to empower students academically and personally.
  • Self-motivation, desire to be a great teammate, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
  • Ability and desire to implement feedback from school leaders and colleagues.
  • Ability to interpret academic and behavioral data and identify trends
  • Ability to provide high quality feedback to teachers and school culture teams
  • Ability to facilitate whole school moments with strong leadership presence
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree is required;
    • At least 2 years of experience working in an urban district or charter school setting.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is between $60,000 to $80,000. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $60,000 - $64,000. Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
