English Teaching Assistant (EOF Summer Program 2026)
Rutgers University – Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an English Teaching Assistant (EOF Summer Program 2026). This position provides academic and administrative support to the assigned faculty member and program activities. Attend subject area classes and meetings as required, including two pre-meetings. Facilitate English workshop and foundation sessions.
Provide tutoring as necessary. Supervise lunch sessions as assigned. Attend Faculty/Staff Orientation on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Attend the tutor training session on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May attend and participate in the Leadership Activity on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Attend the summer closing ceremony on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Salary Details - $15.92 to $22 per hour

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Require Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate proficiency in academic writing, grammar, and reading comprehension, experience working with diverse student populations, ability to provide one-on-one and small group academic support, ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
