Tenure‑Track Assistant Professor
- Rutgers Law School Camden/Newark
Rutgers Law School invites applications from entry‑level candidates for tenure‑track faculty appointments on its Camden and Newark campuses. One position is available at each site. The positions are part of the Law School’s unitary track, giving faculty full membership, scholarly support, voting rights, and governance participation comparable to all tenure‑track faculty.
ResponsibilitiesTeach courses in Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research (LAWR). The Camden site requires instruction in Constitutional Law or Civil Procedure, while the Newark site requires instruction in Evidence. Faculty will also engage in scholarship, service, and mentoring, fulfilling the law school's mission of high‑quality teaching, research, and community engagement.
Qualifications- Doctorate (JD or PhD) in law or an equivalent degree.
- Demonstrated aptitude for teaching in LAWR plus a required secondary area (Constitutional Law or Civil Procedure for Camden; Evidence for Newark).
- Distinguished academic background with evidence of scholarship and teaching excellence.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a statement of professional contributions to these goals available upon selection.
- Experience in research that aligns with the law school’s strategic priorities.
- Evidence of early‑career scholarly productivity.
- Published work in peer‑reviewed law journals or equivalent venues.
Minimum annual salary is $100,000 for academic‑year appointments or $115,000 for calendar‑year appointments, with actual compensation based on experience and qualifications. Rutgers offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
