Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Newark, a partnership between Bard College and the Newark Public Schools (NPS) in Newark,NJ, invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Chemistry, which begins in the Fall.

Through a tuition-free, credit-bearing college program in theliberal arts and sciences with robust supports, BHSEC schools helphigh school age students, particularly those at risk of notcompleting postsecondary education, access, afford, and completecollege prepared to contribute to the workforce and civic life. AtBHSEC Newark, students have the opportunity to earn up to 60college credits and an associate in arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College, concurrently with a high school diploma from the Newark Board of Education (NBOE).

We are seeking educators passionate about their fields of study and committed to advancing equity through rigorous curricula madeaccessible to students with varied academic preparation. The successful applicant for this position must be committed to teaching classes at both the high school and college levels. In addition, you will be expected to participate fully in the life ofthe school, including student advising, club advising, and committee service.

The successful candidate will teach High school Chemistry, College Chemistry, a 11th-grade course, as well as college elective(s) in Chemistry, as needed.

Compensation: This is an NBOE-funded position. The salary range is $64,000 to $107,010

Start Date: September 2025

  • Ph.D. Preferred
  • Master's Degree Required
  • College teaching experience required
  • High school teaching experience and/or experience working withyouth desirable.
  • Work authorization in the United States required for all BHSECNewark faculty positions. We cannot sponsor visas for this position.
