The Bard Early Colleges, tuition‑free satellite campuses of Bard College operated through partnerships with public school systems, are founded on the belief that many high‑school‑age students are eager and ready for the intellectual challenges of a college education.
Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Newark, a partnership between Bard College and the Newark Public Schools (NPS) in Newark, NJ, invites applications for a full‑time faculty position in Chemistry, which begins in the Fall.
Through a tuition‑free, credit‑bearing college program in the liberal arts and sciences with robust supports, BHSEC schools help high‑school‑age students—particularly those at risk of not completing postsecondary education—to access, afford, and complete a college education prepared to contribute to the workforce and civic life. At BHSEC Newark, students can earn up to 60 college credits and an associate in arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College concurrently with a high‑school diploma from the Newark Board of Education (NBOE).
We are seeking educators passionate about their fields of study and committed to advancing equity through rigorous curricula made accessible to students with varied academic preparation. The successful applicant must be committed to teaching classes at both the high‑school and college levels and will be expected to participate fully in the life of the school—including student advising, club advising, and committee service.
The successful candidate will teach High‑school Chemistry, College Chemistry (an 11th‑grade course), as well as college elective(s) in Chemistry as needed.
CompensationThis is an NBOE‑funded position. Salary range is $64,000 to $107,010.
LocationBard High School Early College in Newark, NJ.

Qualifications- Ph.D. preferred;
Master’s degree required. - College teaching experience required.
- High‑school teaching experience and/or experience working with youth desirable.
- Work authorization in the United States required for all BHSEC Newark faculty positions; visas will not be sponsored.
