THE ROLE

LEAD Charter School seeks an exceptional Social Worker & Case Manager to join our mission-driven community. Our goal is to transform equity through opportunities for young people in Newark, New Jersey. The Social Worker-Case Manager supports the implementation of the OYN school model in Special Education and across the school, raising student achievement in preparation for success in postsecondary education, career and community leadership.

The Social Worker-Case Manager serves as a member of the Child Study Team (CST), assesses the needs of students and supports the school’s instructional program by assisting students in their personal, social and educational growth.

  • Holds valid New Jersey Educational Services Certificate and School Social Worker Endorsement.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting underserved populations, especially in special education.
  • Deep knowledge of special education interventions, procedure and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, families, staff and community.
  • Successful in creating collaborative relationships or coalitions.
  • Commitment to OYN school model and implementation with fidelity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of office productivity software.
  • Robust analytical skills, with an ability to use data to drive student achievement.
  • Capacity to personalize student support through differentiation, including use of technology.
  • Required criminal history background check, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status & NJ residency.
