Academic Interventionist
The State District Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Academic Interventionist. The position requires an appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS). A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, along with a minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
The candidate should have awareness of relationships between home and school, knowledge of federal and state regulations, and familiarity with New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Letters of recommendation, including one from a current principal or supervisor, are required. A valid New Jersey driver's license is necessary if vehicle operation is required for the job. Persons with disabilities are eligible if reasonable accommodations can be made.
The position involves working directly with students to reach mastery, designing and implementing academic interventions in Reading and Math, and providing data-driven instruction for Math/LAL for all K-8 students. The candidate will also analyze student achievement data, develop unit plan materials, and communicate with school personnel and parents/guardians regarding student progress. Reports to the Principal. Salary range is $70,000-$114,750 for a ten-month employment period with the Newark Teachers' Union.
