Supervisor Special Education
The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Supervisor Special Education, within the Office of Special Education.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
- New Jersey Principal Certificate (Preferred).
- New Jersey Supervisor Certificate.
- Valid New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped/Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certificate.
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in school or District level administration.
- Minimum of four (4) years successful experience in teaching special education.
- Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards for curriculum, assessment and instruction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
- Ability to plan, organize and administer a District-level professional development program.
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of New Jersey Administrative Code Title 6A Chapter 14.
- Knowledge of special education placement, compliance, and EasyIEP or other electronic database that stores Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
- Ability to complete comprehensive special education reviews, including recommendations for programmatic improvement and compliance management.
Basic functions and responsibilities:
- Management and coaching of instructional staff.
- Curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Organizational leadership.
Salary: $107,500 - $143,500. Employment period:
Twelve (12) months. Union affiliation:
City Association of Supervisors and Administrators (C.A.S.A).
