Part‑Time Instructor, Biological Sciences, Fall 2026
The Department of Biological Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences‑Newark, Rutgers University‑Newark, is seeking qualified part‑time instructors for the Fall 2026 semester to teach biology surveys, recitations, laboratories, or upper‑level courses focused on specific themes or topics.
Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver course material and assessments.
- Create and post a complete course syllabus.
- Teach and facilitate class sessions according to the approved schedule.
- Hold office hours and provide out‑of‑class support for students.
- Respond to student e‑mail inquiries in a timely manner.
- Grading and record‑keeping for assignments, exams, and other assessments.
- Submit final grades to the department in accordance with university policies.
- Participate in department meetings and professional development as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or a closely related field (required).
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level.
- Flexibility to teach during evenings, weekends, or remotely as needed.
Salary:
Minimum $2,777 per credit.
