Lecturer of Counselor Education (Contract Faculty)

Location: South Orange, New Jersey
Start Date: August 2026

Responsibilities
  • Teach a 12-credit teaching requirement during the fall and spring semesters (four courses per semester), using both onsite and online asynchronous delivery.
  • Provide active service across the College and Department.
  • Advise, mentor, and counsel students, including clinical mentorship.
  • Develop curriculum and conduct program assessment, review, and revision.
  • Commit to the University’s mission and support CACREP accreditation efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education from an accredited institution, or fulfillment of CACREP core faculty requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to teach a variety of graduate-level courses in both onsite and online programs in Counselor Education.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience teaching courses both onsite and in an online asynchronous format.
  • Background in a CACREP‑recognized specialization.
  • Licensed or license‑eligible in Professional Counseling and/or School Counseling in the state of New Jersey.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaborations within the department’s programs and across the College’s academic departments.

  • Licensed or license‑eligible in Professional Counseling and/or School Counseling in the state of New Jersey.
Salary Range

$61,556 – $68,396 per year.
