The High School Math Instructor will be responsible for teaching the following courses:
Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II or Pre-calculus/Calculus.

• To conduct an integrated academic math class (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus/Calculus) and teach students learning strategies.
• Conduct teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulative objects, props, and other learning aids.
• Prepare and submit a course outline prior to the start of the class; assist with the planning, instruction, and evaluation of tutoring and problem‑solving activities.
• Complete paperwork associated with classroom and project management.
• Make recommendations on students' strengths and needs.
• Report student learning and behavioral issues to the appropriate staff personnel.
• Assist with the training and evaluation of Teacher Assistants.
• Attend training and meetings as required.
• Provide 24‑hour notice in the event of an absence.
• Ensure classroom work is prepared for students and that the TA is prepared to deliver work when the instructor is absent.

• Transport students from one class location to another in a timely manner, ensuring proper supervision and safety.

• Two or more years of teaching experience at the high school or post‑secondary level.
• Complete a background clearance check.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, and conduct a comprehensive instructional tutoring program for students enrolled in the Upward Bound Program.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in the designated discipline.
• Experience working with minority and disadvantaged students at the middle school, high school, or post‑secondary level.
• At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted when a candidate can demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience that prepares the candidate for success in the position.

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly range for this position is $40.00‑$50.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
