Employment Type: 10‑Month Contract
Salary: WWPEA; $67,000 – $107,802 per year
Position SummaryProvide daily instruction for students in accordance with Board‑approved curriculum.
Responsibilities- Plan and prepare lesson plans under the Board‑approved model, developing instructional materials that adapt instruction to each pupil.
- Set specific objectives in lesson preparation and weekly lesson plans, and effectively teach to achieve these objectives.
- Plan class activities and lesson presentations that are age‑appropriate and meet the individual needs, interests, and ability levels of all pupils.
- Participate with other staff members in planning during designated times.
- Incorporate IEP requirements into planning as provided through the district’s child study team.
- Provide quality instruction using Board‑adopted curricula, textbooks, technology resources, and other appropriate learning activities to achieve state and district standards.
- Monitor pupil academic progress and personal growth toward appropriate objectives; maintain records and summarize grades for reporting purposes.
- Identify pupil needs and provide appropriate, engaging instruction.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior; utilize class time effectively and supervise pupils.
- Design assessments that inform ongoing instruction.
- Employ differentiated instruction techniques as needed.
- Implement required accommodations and services as specified in individual education programs.
- Refer students to appropriate support personnel using district procedures.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning, implementing relevant policies and rules.
- Maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through reading, workshops, conferences, college courses, and staff development.
- Attend school and district meetings as required; complete state‑mandated trainings and professional development annually.
- Communicate with parents or guardians through conferences to inform them about academic and social/emotional expectations.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and Board of Education policies.
- Perform other duties within the scope of employment.
- New Jersey Instructional Certification in the appropriate subject matter and level.
- Successful criminal history clearance.
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or appropriate work authorization.
10‑Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education.
