Makerspace Librarian - Librarian 1 - Hunterdon County Library
POSITION OVERVIEW: We are seeking a passionate and talented Makerspace Librarian to join our team full time, 35 hours/week. This position provides a unique opportunity for a hands‑on experience in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced makerspace team to support and contribute to the various projects and activities within the makerspace. This includes teaching classes, supporting open hours, maintaining equipment and helping residents with their projects.
The Hunterdon County Library Makerspace is dedicated to providing a welcoming, safe space for community members of all backgrounds to connect, discover, build and create through hands‑on experimentation and exploration. Our state‑of‑the‑art makerspace is equipped with a laser, direct‑to‑garment printer, sublimation printer, vacuum former, SLA resin printer, carbon fiber printer, kiln, pottery wheel, audio visual equipment, long‑arm quilter, serger, sewing machines, embroidery machines, soldering and woodworking tools.
Qualifications- A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.
- Applicant must comply with the “NJ First Act.”
- Appointee may be required to possess a valid driver's license – initial appointment provisional pending Civil Service procedure.
- 35 hours/week, including some nights & weekends.
