Academic Interventionist
Pending availability of funds and Superintendent's approval.
Department:
Human Resource Services, Newark Board of Education, 765 Broad Street, Newark, NJ 07102.
- An appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) as deemed necessary by the NJ Department of Education.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred), unless otherwise specified by the NJ Department of Education.
- Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience.
- Awareness of relationships that must exist between home and school in order to administer a successful project.
- A working knowledge of federal and state regulations, specifically those identified in the No Child Left Behind Act.
- Knowledge of New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.
- Letters of recommendation, which should include one (1) from current principal or supervisor.
- Possession of a driver's license, valid in New Jersey, only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform the essential duties.
- Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job following reasonable accommodation, unless such accommodation would cause undue hardship.
- Ability to work extended learning time hours.
- Work directly with students to reach mastery.
- Design and implement academic interventions using research-based methodology in Reading and Math.
- Demonstrate high levels of professional conduct and exemplary teaching of individuals and small groups that result in high levels of student learning.
- Provide data-driven instruction for Math/LAL for all K-8 students during the school day, including both in- and out-of-class instruction with flexible grouping.
- Analyze student achievement data to determine target interventions and develop materials.
- Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
- Develop and/or coordinate exemplary unit plan materials, including high-quality sequences for each unit, teaching tools for each standard, and additional materials for teacher use and student practice.
- Communicate with school personnel and parents/guardians regarding reading and/or math levels.
- Perform other duties consistent with specific contractual terms of employment as assigned by appropriate staff and supervisor.
Principal
Salary, Terms & Affiliation- Salary range: $70,000 - $114,750
