Teacher of Graphic Design
Position Overview:
The Newark Board of Education invites qualified applicants to join our community of educators.
- Appropriate New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS).
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
- Evaluate student progress regularly and prepare progress reports.
- Instruct pupils in citizenship, communication skills, and general elements of the curriculum as required by state law.
- Provide individual, small, or large group instruction to adapt the curriculum to pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities.
- Teach proper care and use of textbooks, equipment, and materials.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly and productive environment.
- Select and requisition instructional materials and maintain inventory records.
- Develop instructional plans and organize class time for a balanced program.
- Maintain professional competence through in-service education and self-selected professional growth.
- Supervise out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day as required.
- Coordinate work of aides, teacher assistants, and paraprofessionals.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with colleagues to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
- Communicate with parents and staff about individual student progress and development.
- Maintain attendance accounting and required business services.
- Participate in student activities and faculty committees.
- Serve as a resource person relating graphic design to other subject areas.
- Maintain open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Principal
Compensation and Membership- Salary: $70,000 – $114,750
- Employment Period: 10 months
