Position: Per Diem Principal Mentor SY 2026-27 (NBOE)

Per Diem Principal Mentor

The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Per Diem Principal Mentor at various locations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a principal in an urban setting.
  • Proven record of success as a principal with clear evidence of student growth.
  • Proven record of success in working in an urban setting.
  • Ability to mentor and provide support to aspiring leaders.
  • Principal Certification required.

PREFERRED: Experience working in the Newark Board of Education.

Basic Functions And Responsibilities
  • Allocate time for regularly meetings with principals throughout the year.
  • Meeting with school based administrative teams as needed.
  • Observing and coaching the practices of current principals.
  • Assist principals in identifying and solving problems.
  • Review relevant school data and documentation.
  • Assist principals with tracking progress against standards.
  • Consult with supervising Assistant Superintendent.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent ability to organize and prioritize projects.
