Supervisor-High School Leadership Team

The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Supervisor-High School Leadership Team. Qualifications and requirements include a master's degree from an accredited college or university, a New Jersey Department of Education Principal Standard (preferred) and/or Supervisor Standard license, a valid New Jersey Teacher Certificate, a minimum of three years of successful experience in school or district level administration, and a minimum of four years of successful experience in teaching.

Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards for curriculum, assessment, and instruction is also required.

Basic functions and responsibilities include interacting with high schools to provide relevant information about higher education experiences, college/university admission/financial aid processes, and career readiness; developing a data system for graduating seniors to have a comprehensive college and/or career pathways timeline; assisting high schools in monitoring correspondence from colleges and technical schools; organizing group events to encourage students and their families to consider, plan for, and apply to colleges, universities, and career opportunities;

coordinating programs to visit feeder schools to encourage early planning for college; working with local community groups to offer group events outside school settings and hours; establishing productive working relationships with principals, counselors, teachers, and school to career coordinators in assigned schools and external partners, colleges, and universities; collaborating with supervisors of bilingual and ESL services, supervisors in teaching and learning, and supervisors of special education to ensure programs are inclusive and tailored to the needs of all learners;

preparing a budget and program plan that promotes the equitable allocation of college and career programs; identifying job market trends and tailoring program opportunities to ensure that students are on a path to secure employment in high-demand career fields; collaborating with district leaders in the development of program marketing materials and social media advertising; and performing other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of the High Schools.

The position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of the High Schools. The salary range is $107,500 - $143,500, with a 12-month calendar employment period. The union affiliation is the City Association of Supervisors and Administrators (C.A.S.A.).
