Posting Summary
- The Department of Arts, Culture and Media, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark, Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), is seeking part-time instructors for the Fall 2026 semester to teach 3D Design Fundamentals. The successful candidate must be able to address the history of sculpture and visual language specific to 3D design. The class exposes students to both traditional and contemporary production tools and practices.
The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to, preparing course material; creating and posting a course syllabus; presenting material during the assigned course times; holding office hours and providing appropriate out-of-class time for students; responding to student e-mails; conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means, in a timely manner;
and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, off-campus, online, hybrid, remotely, or any combination of these, based on the academic needs of the department.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master of Fine Arts degree with a specialization in Sculpture or Intermedia. Experience working with Blender, Autodesk Fusion 360, or comparable software.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must. Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level is highly desired.
