Position Goals

• The Permanent Part Time Back-on-Track Advisor will report directly to the Director of Academic Advisement and will promote a positive and successful learning experience for students in an effort to increase student retention, success and completion. The Permanent Part Time Back-on-Track Advisor will leverage a holistic approach in assisting students with goal setting and providing continuous communication and follow-up to maximize goal attainment.
• The Permanent Part Time Back-on-Track Advisor will remain consistent with Camden County College’s acknowledgement of the inherent value and dignity of all individuals by creating and nurturing a learning and working environment that affirms and leverages our community’s traditions, heritages, perspectives, and experiences. • Advises returning and current students on academic and career development matters, through individual meetings and initial orientation.
• Monitors students’ academic progress using prescribed program procedures, recommending necessary services to remedy academic issues; implementing intrusive advising strategies aimed at retaining students; facilitating graduation; and enabling transfer.
• Collects necessary data, assists in report preparation, and maintains required documentation, all in a timely manner and in accordance with Federal program regulations.
• Provides general information about the college experience, and college programs, policies and procedures.
• Makes referrals to appropriate college offices for resolution of student personal concerns.
• Provides support for College registration events as needed in collaboration with Academic Advisement Office.
• Participates in college-wide retention initiatives.
• Collaborates with OIT on Re-Up program and student intake.
• Reviews semester Back-on-Track eligibility for funding.
• Supports organization of continual student correspondence.
• Outreach to caseload who did not register for the current semester and return to the program as well as currently registered caseload.
• Participates in ongoing professional development and training.
• Provides services at all three college locations, both in-person and virtually.
