Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Chairperson of Mathematics, Engineering Technologies & Computer Sciences or designee, the Math Tutor will assist the MTH 0905/100 professor by providing both in-class and outside-of-class support to students in order to improve overall class academic performance.

Compensation:
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $18.00 per hour

Supervisory Role

Oral and written instructions are received from the Chairperson of Mathematics, Engineering Technologies & Computer Sciences or designee.

Duties & Responsibilities

Attend all class sessions held in the lab in order to support students while they are completing individual class work and/or small group work assigned by the professor.

Be available in class to provide one-on-one assistance to any student who needs supplemental help during the professor's lecture.

Be available outside-of-class for an additional scheduled number of hours each week to tutor students either in a one-on-one or small group format.

Perform other related duties as required.

Additional Requirements

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities

ECC student/recent graduate in a STEM major with strong mathematics skills.

Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment at all times.

Demonstrated konowledge of computer skills.

Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)

Major in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or related area.
One or more years experience as a tutor or teaching assistant.

Preferred Qualifications Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
