THE ROLE

LEAD Charter School seeks an exceptional Part-Time
Meal Service
Aide to join our mission-driven community. Our goal is to transform equity through opportunities for young people in Newark. The Meal Service
Aide will play a pivotal part in ensuring the successful management and execution of the school’s federal food service program.

The mission of LEAD is to enable students ages 16-21 in grades 9-12 to master essential skills for success in careers, postsecondary education, and community leadership within a global society. We implement the Newark Opportunity Youth Network (NOYN) school model, supporting the unique academic and non-academic needs of students who have disengaged from traditional schooling. • High School Diploma Required, Associate’s Degree Preferred
• Current Servsafe certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of principles of nutrition, food preparation, health and safety regulations, and federal and state guidelines governing school food services programs
• Ability to work with a diverse, multicultural staff and students.
• Commitment to school model and implementation with fidelity
• Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and prioritize strategically
• Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of necessary software/technology.

Management of Food Service Program:

• Knowledge of principles of nutrition, food preparation, health and safety regulations, and federal and state guidelines governing school food services programs.
• Assumes responsibility for the operation of the school’s food services program in accordance with board policies and local, state/federal requirements.
• Determines eligibility status for free, reduced, and paid applicants.
• Set up and serve meals to students.
• Maintain a clean work environment and serving area.
