Job Description

As part of our mission to pave the way for children's success worldwide, Therapy Source is currently seeking a part-time Substitute Paraprofessional to provide in-person services for charter school students. This position is for the remainder of the current school year. Paraprofessional Salary Range: $24-$26 per hour Paraprofessional Position Details:
Part-Time W2 Position Must have flexibility with schedule Availability last minute for sub coverages within Newark is highly preferred Some coverages will be planned ahead and the others day of Must be comfortable with all behaviors and age ranges, as coverage needs can vary Paraprofessional

Qualifications:

Possession of (or willingness to obtain) up-to-date clearances Proof of individual professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain) Ability to lift and carry orders and deliveries short distances. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience in a school environment Paraprofessional Essential Attributes :
Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher for the purpose of providing an opportunity for students with disabilities or special needs to participate in classroom activities. Implement academic instruction taught by a teacher for individuals or small groups for the purpose of meeting learning goals, as described by an IEP and/or district benchmarks. Implement behavioral plans designed by IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions;

document progress. Participate, as appropriate, in communication between school and home per a student's IEP. Confer with teachers on a regular basis for the purpose of assisting in evaluating the progress of students with disabilities or special needs and/or implementing IEP objectives. Assist other staff members as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

When not supporting the department as a Dedicated Aide, you'll be required to:
Support teachers as an additional instructor in the classroom;
Teach courses and/or substitute teach as the sole instructor as necessary; and perform administrative duties for the department.
