Position SummaryHeat is an inherent part of gasoline-powered (e.g., engines), or sustainable generators (e.g., solar, or wind). Heat is also generated from wastelands and the project aims at using the, otherwise wasted thermal energy, as an additional electrical resource. The project studies thermo-cells as means to generate electricity - these are the chemistry version of solid‑states thermo‑electric cells.
Essential Functions- Perform electrochemical wet-laboratory work on Thermo-cells.
- The candidate should be able to fabricate electrochemical cells by laying out thin films and characterize them by taking electronic data.
- The candidate ought to have an UG or graduate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with wet-lab experience, preferably in electrochemistry of Thermo-cells.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate for this position is $16.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
