JOB TITLE: SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER - Philadelphia, PA
We are currently seeking a Senior
Mechanical Engineer with a P.E. license to conduct field investigations and perform forensic engineering & failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of machinery, mechanical equipment and devices including cranes, presses, pressure vessels and hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, gas, plumbing systems, etc.
The candidate must have mechanical and materials failure analysis experience and a thorough understanding and knowledge of HVAC, and Fire Protection system analysis and design experience(residential, commercial, industrial).
Those candidates who have experience with product liability analysis, and identifying subrogation potential will be given top consideration. Preferred candidates are familiar in dealing with attorneys, insurance claims professionals, and corporate liability and risk management personnel. Expert witness testimony experience is a plus!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Investigate and analyze mechanical devices, products and designs.
- Conduct field investigations to document onsite conditions.
- Perform forensic engineering & failure/accident analysis of all types of machinery, mechanical equipment and devices including HVAC, gas, plumbing systems, cranes, presses, pressure vessels and hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.
- Assist with vehicle accident reconstruction.
- Provide technical findings and conclusions, both verbally and in written reports.
- Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups.
- Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Demonstrated history of being reliable and accountable to a team of professionals.

- Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
- Must be team spirited and have the ability to collaborate well with customers and staff.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve.

- Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to compile and organize project reports, timely and accurately.
- Prior ERP experience is beneficial.
- This position requires: climbing roofs and sun exposure for extended periods of time, crawling through attics, extended periods of standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, carrying, and repetitive hand movement. Additional requirements include the ability to manipulate, carry, and effectively use a 24 ft extension ladder, bend and/or kneel, and have no fear of heights or confined spaces.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters Degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering or related field, from an Accredited University.
- P.E. license in state applying - ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT.
- 10+ years experience required.
- NCEES record, preferred.
- Forensic experience/exposure, preferred.
- Knowledge of machine design and mechanical, HVAC, gas, plumbing systems.
- Must be proficient user of Microsoft Office Software including:
Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, required. - Must have active valid motor vehicle license.
