Our client, a well-respected construction management and consulting firm, is looking for a Senior Electrical Construction Manager for their project in Newark, NJ.
This role requires deep knowledge of utility coordination, electrical power systems, and working within highly regulated environments. The ideal candidate would have experience with multiple PSEG projects to lead and manage electrical construction activities on a complex, public-sector transportation project.
Key Responsibilities- Lead construction execution for electrical power distribution, communications, controls, and system integration
- Ensure all electrical work aligns with PSEG standards, project specifications, and public-agency requirements
- Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and authority stakeholders
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and system readiness activities
- Monitor schedule, quality, safety, and field performance
- Resolve construction conflicts related to utilities and electrical scope
- Support workforce development, local hiring, and diversity participation goals
- Prepare reports, field documentation, and leadership updates
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline
- 7–10+ years of construction management experience on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience working directly with PSEG (required)
- Strong background in electrical systems, including medium- and high-voltage power
- Experience on airport, rail, transit, or utility-heavy infrastructure projects
- Proven experience working on public-sector or authority-led projects
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Newark, NJ
- Automated People Mover (APM), rail, or transit systems
- Utility relocations and service tie-ins
- Electrical commissioning and system integration
- Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Long-term project stability on a landmark infrastructure program
