Fire Sprinkler Designer

We are a fast-growing, family-owned commercial fire protection contractor based in Newark, New Jersey, specializing exclusively in fire sprinkler systems
. For over 30 years, our leadership team has delivered high-quality design, installation, and ongoing maintenance services across commercial offices, mixed-use developments, industrial facilities, multifamily housing, retail, and restaurants.

We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our growing design team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on design work, collaboration with engineering and field teams, and contributing to projects that are built right the first time.

You will be responsible for producing accurate, detailed fire sprinkler system designs that support efficient field installation and code compliance.

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems with a high level of accuracy and constructability.
• Create, revise, and maintain CAD drawings and design documentation.
• Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine project requirements and critical dimensions.
• Calculate and convert design dimensions for layout, resizing, and installation.
• Submit plans for internal review and approval and assist with permitting as required.
• Collaborate with engineering and design staff to implement design modifications.
• Produce detailed multi‑view drawings and final sketches, ensuring accuracy of dimensions, materials, and system layout.
• Revise system sizes, shapes, and arrangements to develop practical, field‑ready designs.
• Maintain drawing records and update databases with design changes.

• 5+ years of fire sprinkler design experience (required).
• Strong working knowledge of sprinkler piping and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in CAD

• Experience designing for commercial and multifamily projects preferred.
• NICET certification not required

• Ability to work onsite in Newark, NJ (New York–based commuters will not be considered due to commute length).
