Senior Estimator
Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Estimator to support one of the most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). In this role, you will play a key part in scoping and estimating costs across various aspects of the program, ensuring accurate and reliable projections to support successful project execution.
The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel.
Role Accountabilities- Lead the development of detailed cost estimates across all project phases (conceptual, preliminary, and final design).
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and stakeholders to understand project scope and cost drivers.
- Prepare cost breakdowns for civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, communications, signal, and track systems.
- Ensure all estimates are compliant with industry standards, client requirements, and relevant regulations.
- Perform risk and uncertainty analyses to develop contingencies and evaluate potential cost impacts.
- Review contractor bids and change orders to support negotiation and procurement processes.
- 10 years of experience estimating complex infrastructure or tunnel projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in cost estimating methodologies and techniques related to construction.
- Knowledge of New York City construction trade unions rates and rules.
- Experience in preparing detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), civil, structural, or architectural construction projects.
- Strong ability to produce high-quality materials within tight time frames and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $230,000.
Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
