Senior Network Engineer

This role supports the client's network modernization, wireless mobility, and infrastructure resiliency initiatives.

• Design, implement, support, and maintain enterprise network and wireless infrastructure across client facilities—including data centers, rail stations, bus garages, office buildings, transportation hubs, dispatch centers, maintenance facilities, and remote locations.
• Design, implement, and support wireless cellular technologies such as LTE, 5G, DAS, wireless WAN (WWAN), and mobile network solutions.
• Support highly available network and wireless infrastructure for 24×7 transportation operations with a focus on resiliency, redundancy, and operational continuity.
• Perform cellular and wireless signal analysis, coverage validation, interference troubleshooting, and cellular performance optimization.
• Support out-of-band (OOB) connectivity solutions that utilize cellular technologies for remote infrastructure management and resiliency.
• Determine and analyze user requirements for voice and data services and equipment.
• Participate in vulnerability remediation, security audits, incident response, and infrastructure hardening initiatives.
• Evaluate technical and cost proposals for telecommunications equipment, systems, and services and prepare recommendations for the immediate supervisor.
• Perform voice and data traffic engineering analysis to ensure that telecommunications services are optimized and maintained at an acceptable level of service.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related major or equivalent.

• CradlePoint Modem Device Configuration skills and operational support.
• Four or more years of applied experience in the telecommunications field, including voice and data.
• Experience working in a major PBX and/or network environment with extensive client interaction in the implementation and support of data and voice networks.
• Experience with wireless cellular technologies such as LTE, 5G, DAS, cellular gateways and modems, and carrier network services.
• Knowledge of wireless network architecture, RF fundamentals, carrier connectivity, and mobile communications infrastructure.
• Experience supporting mission-critical wireless infrastructure and transportation communications systems.

• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CWNA, CWNP, Cisco Wireless or equivalent preferred.

• Requires fieldwork at transportation facilities, remote sites, data centers, rail stations, bus garages, and outdoor locations. Travel to locations will depend on where the work is needed; the candidate can expect one to two days per week in the office at 2 Gateway, Newark, NJ, and the remaining days at one of the sites. Remote work is not permitted.
• May require after-hours support for emergency wireless and cellular outages and maintenance activities.
