Overview
Our growing client in Morris County, NJ is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to drive critical facility and capital initiatives across a Lean/Six Sigma production environment. This role is responsible for delivering projects that enhance capacity, improve equipment reliability, and support long-term operational performance. You will partner closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with business objectives.
Responsibilities- Manage capital initiatives from early concept and planning through implementation and startup
- Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and key milestones while proactively addressing potential risks
- Analyze equipment condition and performance to guide decisions on upgrades, replacements, or improvements
- Oversee the acquisition and installation of machinery, automation systems, and process enhancements
- Support site growth by coordinating building expansions, infrastructure updates, and workflow improvements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to improve plant layout and material flow
- Lead large maintenance efforts, including shutdown planning and execution, to ensure minimal operational impact
- Coordinate contractors and suppliers, setting clear expectations around safety, quality, and deliverables
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure all work aligns with regulatory and company standards
- Drive process improvements using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Anticipate and mitigate project and facility-related risks to keep initiatives on track
- Act as a point of contact during urgent facility issues, organizing timely responses to limit downtime
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for Continuous Improvement
- At least 5 years of experience supporting projects in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Track record of successfully delivering capital projects valued at $500K or more
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and business case development
- Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD or Solid Works
- Familiarity with project scheduling platforms such as MS Project or Primavera
- Strong communication skills and experience working with external vendors and contractors
