Fire Sprinkler Designer

You'll take ownership of fire protection design from concept through construction:

Design & Engineering

• Create complete sprinkler system designs (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, foam)
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and pump analysis
• Analyze water supply, hydrant flow tests, and system performance

Drawings & Modeling

• Produce shop drawings, construction documents, and as-builts
• Build and coordinate models in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
• Run clash detection and resolve coordination issues with MEP/structural teams

Code Compliance & Coordination

• Ensure designs meet NFPA (13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20), IBC/IFC, and AHJ requirements
• Prepare submittals and respond to AHJ comments
• Coordinate with fire alarm, life safety systems, and FM/UL standards

Technical Execution

• Select and specify: sprinkler heads and system components, valves (OS&Y), backflow prev enters, piping systems (CPVC, steel, grooved)
• Design seismic bracing and supports (ASCE
  7)
• Support RFIs, field coordination, and commissioning/testing

What You Bring

• 3+ years of fire sprinkler design experience (commercial/industrial preferred)
• Strong experience with hydraulic calculations and system sizing
• Fire protection software (AutoSPRINK, HydraCALC, SprinkCAD, etc.)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
• Working knowledge of NFPA codes (13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20), IBC/IFC, piping systems and installation practices
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• NICET (Water-Based Systems Layout)
• Experience with FM Global standards
• PE license or path toward licensure
