Project Engineer
Marine Solutions is currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in our Newark, New Jersey office. The Project Engineer position performs a variety of engineering duties including field inspection, material testing, evaluation, analysis, design, and technical document preparation under the direction of a higher-level engineer. To fulfill these obligations, Project Engineers must be able to conduct assigned engineering work in compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and internal procedures and standards.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Performing field inspection and evaluation of structures under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Performing testing of materials and incorporating results into reports under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Performing complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Preparing comprehensive engineering documents including inspection reports, design plans, and specifications under the direction of a higher-level engineer.
- Actively participating in internal project meetings and working to actively resolve project issues.
- Actively promoting a safe work culture.
You will need technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in area of practice. Proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and office software and equipment. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language. Ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions. Good organizational skills.
Education and experience:
Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil, structural or ocean engineering from an accredited four-year university. 0-4 years of engineering experience.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT)
- Valid US Driver's License

Physical requirements, work environment, and safety include:
- Regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.

Compensation:
The salary pay range for positions in New Jersey is $83,500 to $97,000, depending on education and relevant experience.
