Radioactive Waste Technician

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Technician for our Somerset, NJ team.

This highly motivated, detail-oriented, customer-service focused individual will be responsible for working on site for the client by helping them manage their hazardous waste programs.

• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Flexibility with working schedule as start and end times may vary
• Develop a strong working knowledge of local site requirements and state and local regulations
• Assist EHS team as requested
• Participate in radiological focused training and development
• Handle chemicals and hazardous waste in small and large containers
• Handle low-level radioactive waste
• Utilize a Geiger counter as well as other tools to assess levels of radiation in industrial waste streams
• Perform onsite waste management routine & regulatory inspections
• Prepare and manage routine waste shipments including creating all transportation documents as required by regulations
• Willingness to wear a respirator when necessary
• Provide clients with high-quality and professional customer service
• Maintain professional attitude, high energy, and high-level communication skills when dealing directly with client representatives

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field
• 1+ years of customer service experience
• Self-motivated with the desire to learn
• Eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
• Reliable form of transportation
• Willingness to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
• Will be required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) as part of our company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to work overtime when needed
• Role is safety-sensitive; may handle hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for putting on and taking off personal protective equipment

• Prior relevant industry experience
• Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification

New Jersey Pay: $25 – $30 USD
