Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $175,000 depending on experience.

Tutor Perini O&G, a joint venture, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Newark Air Train project team at Newark International Airport.

• Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and processing change orders.
• Review mock-up and/or shop drawings and specifications.
• Review and maintain subcontractor non‑compliance and coordinate with QA/QC.
• Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications.
• Identify critical work items, procure long‑lead items, order and schedule material deliveries.
• Assist in preparing work plans.
• Assist in managing document control, project safety, and environmental requirements.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, including health, safety and welfare as appropriate.
• Perform material quantity takeoffs from contract documents.
• Assist in the supervision of field operations.
• Assist in preparing purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Assist in preparing schedules and performing updates.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution.
• 10 or more years of heavy civil construction experience.
• Experience on construction projects over $100million.
• Experience preparing cost reports.
• Knowledge of legal/contract and claims processes.
• Proficiency with MS Office software; familiar with industry software such as Procore, Primavera P6.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
