Operations & Maintenance Technician
The Operations & Maintenance Technician role involves performing routine operations and maintenance tasks, technical support and/or production/manual tasks as directed. This role works within clearly defined guidelines and acquires new skills while gaining a deeper understanding of role responsibilities. This position has limited decision-making authority and entails oversight with little room for independent judgement, thus requiring diligence and attentiveness to instructions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in water/wastewater treatment operations and maintenance.
- Participate in process optimization activities under supervision.
- Provide support dealing with hazardous waste treatment and management.
- Follow standard operating procedures and job hazard analyses meticulously.
- Support in fulfilling regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in field sampling and data collection assignments.
- Contribute to staff augmentation tasks in various operation and maintenance phases.
- Assist in operability and safety audits and reviews for continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
Skills and Competencies
- Familiarity with basic concepts of water/wastewater treatment operations and maintenance.
- Basic understanding of hazardous waste treatment and management.
- Competence in understanding, following, and implementing standard operating procedures and job hazard analyses.
- Basic skills in field sampling and data collection techniques.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
Experience
- Typically, 0-2 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
Education
- Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A:
- $24.50 - $30.80
Location B:
- $27.40 - $33.70
