WSP is seeking a Building Technology Systems - Consultant specializing in Structured Cabling, Electronic Security Systems, or Audiovisual design to join our Building Technology Systems team in the Northeast Region. This role will work under the guidance of Lead and Senior Consultants to support the design, coordination, and construction administration of building technology systems across a variety of projects.

Our team supports the design and integration of future-ready building technology systems. We work on high-quality, high-profile, local, national, and international projects. You will contribute to project delivery by assisting with design development, documentation, coordination, and construction support activities. Project verticals include, but are not limited to, financial services, healthcare, corporate, residential, stadium and large venue, mission critical/data center, education, and government/federal facilities.

This is a hybrid role. The successful candidate must be able to commute to a regional office approximately 1-2 days per week. In-office presence will be determined by business, project, and client needs.

Ability and willingness to travel occasional as required to support project and client needs.

Your Impact
  • Assist with the design and documentation of Structured Cabling, Electronic Security, and/or Audiovisual systems, including telecommunications infrastructure, pathways, spaces, and associated technology components.
  • Support project teams in the preparation of design deliverables from schematic design through construction documentation.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with internal project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with gathering and documenting client requirements and existing conditions information.
  • Prepare design narratives, drawings, specifications, and supporting project documentation under the direction of senior staff.
  • Review technology system submittals and RFIs and support project teams in preparing responses.
  • Perform site surveys, field observations, and existing conditions assessments and document findings.
  • Coordinate technology system requirements with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other project disciplines.
  • Support construction administration activities, including site visits, punch list reviews, and contractor coordination.
  • Maintain project files, documentation, and quality control processes in accordance with company standards.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance technical knowledge and industry expertise.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience supporting the design of Structured Cabling, Electronic Security, Audiovisual, or other building technology systems within the AEC consulting, engineering, or technology infrastructure industry.
  • Basic understanding of building technology system design principles, methods, and industry practices.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks, meet project deadlines, and produce quality deliverables with guidance from senior staff.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and construction administration processes.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards, including IBC, NFPA, BICSI, ANSI/TIA, AVIXA, and ADA requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate professionally with colleagues, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical decision-making and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with WSP's health, safety, and workplace policies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance as required for certain projects.
