Veracity Engineering is seeking a Communications System Engineer – Voice Switching & Recording (Engineer Level
2) to provide engineering, Test & Evaluation (T&E), and technical support to the Federal Aviation Administration’s ATC Voice Communications Branch (ANG-E64).
The ATC Voice Communications Branch supports the FAA’s acquisition and life-cycle sustainment of enterprise Voice Switching and Recording systems by providing test and evaluation, requirements development, and system performance analysis. The branch serves as a Test Lead organization for Voice Switching and Recording programs and validates that systems satisfy the operational needs of Air Traffic and Technical Operations personnel.
The Engineer Level 2 will support the planning, development, execution, and documentation of technical evaluations involving mission-critical FAA voice communications systems deployed throughout the National Airspace System (NAS).
Key Responsibilities- Provide Test & Evaluation support throughout multiple phases of the FAA acquisition lifecycle, including:
- Early Evaluation
- Investment Analysis T&E
- Solution Implementation T&E
- In-Service Management T&E
- Develop, review, coordinate, and execute voice communications test procedures and test plans
. - Support functional, operational, interoperability, and system performance testing of voice switching and recording systems.
- Analyze requirements and test results to determine whether systems meet FAA operational and technical expectations.
- Support voice communications systems operating within:
- Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT)
- Terminal Radar Approach Control facilities (TRACON)
- Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC)
- Automated Flight Service Stations (AFSS)
- Support testbed, facility, laboratory, and site development and maintenance activities
. - Troubleshoot telecommunications, VoIP, network, hardware, and legacy NAS interface issues.
- Support analysis of WAN/LAN infrastructure, communications interfaces, power and grounding, and electronic communications performance
. - Develop, document, track, and support resolution of Problem Trouble Reports (PTRs) and Deficiency Reports (DRs).
- Assist senior engineers and Test Leads during formal test events and technical reviews.
- Coordinate activities with FAA program managers, engineers, contractors, Air Traffic personnel, Technical Operations personnel, and other project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, status reports, test artifacts, and KSN repository content
. - Support project tracking to ensure technical tasks remain aligned with schedule, quality, and program requirements.
