Distribution Engineer

• Develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems
• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements
• Perform structural analysis for wood pole loading and guying calculations
• Specify conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans
• Calculate voltage drop and flicker
• Provide engineering support during construction
• Conduct post-construction reviews to verify engineering and construction standards
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and develop mitigation using engineering principles and design
• Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
• Assess and develop large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments
• Develop work permits, easements, and right-of-way applications
• Work directly with clients and support local utility customers
• Attend in-person meetings and assignments throughout the New Jersey customer territory as needed

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience required
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred; additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree
• Experience executing distribution projects from kickoff through design approved, including customer interaction and process documentation
• Experience with utility reliability projects
• Proficiency with the NESC
• Ability to utilize a personal vehicle
• Willingness to perform both field and office work
• Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion
• Ability to conduct customer-site visits to collect field data
• Valid U.S. driver's license required
• Previous QAQC experience nice to have
• Experience providing estimated costs, developing a BOM, and calculating the CIAC nice to have
• Experience with Pole Foreman, O-Calc, or Spida-Calc nice to have
• Experience with the Work Management System CREWS nice to have
• Relevant management or leadership experience nice to have
