Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) New York and New Jersey Offices are looking for a Civil Engineer II to join our Team. We are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm.
Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities- Prepares design computations, plans and related construction documents.
- Prepares reports, specifications, studies, and permits.
- Analyzes and interprets variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Assists in analyzing and interpreting engineering and construction documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Prepares quantity calculations and cost estimates.
- Prepare engineering and design documents using computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
- Performs construction observation and prepares appropriate documentation.
- Organizes and maintains project files and documentation.
- Assists in preparation and presentation of technical information to colleagues and clients.
- Assists Project, Design and/or Office Managers as requested.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college or university.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years engineering design experience, with at least two (2) years of relevant airside design experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D software application.
- Experience preparing contract documents, specifications and estimates
- Familiarity with FAA standards and advisory circulars.
- Familiarity with AASHTO and/or similar guidelines.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Proficient communication skills and use of common software applications like Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Assists and promotes efforts which develop and mentor junior staff.
- Demonstrates positive work attitude and behaviors.
