The New Jersey Family Planning League (NJFPL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring equitable access to high-quality family planning and related health services for all residents of New Jersey. Responsibilities

and duties
  • Develop and maintain financial record-keeping and reporting systems.
  • Process payroll, billing, receivables, payables, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare reconciliations and follow up on unusual items.
  • Reconcile program income generated versus sub-recipient agency funding.
  • Monitor program income submitted on expenditure reports.
  • Collect quarterly expenditure reports and consolidate them by funding sources.
  • Reconcile sub-recipient expenditure reports with submitted grant budgets.
  • Collect annual audits from sub-recipients and ensure proper reporting.
  • Maintain a list of contracts and their status.
  • Prepare invoices and ensure all general ledger accounts are reconciled monthly.
  • Process monthly closing entries and reconcile bank accounts.
  • Reconcile grants paid to agencies with expenditure reports.
  • Process payroll entries in Net Suite.
  • Track and reconcile FPA membership dues and payments.
  • Process FPA bank deposits and email renewal invoices to members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Time Commitment
  • Flexible Schedule – The League maintains a flexible schedule. Employees must work a minimum of seven (7) hours per day with a thirty (30) minute lunch period. Employees must begin the workday between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. All employees are expected to be available between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • Hybrid Schedule - The League maintains a hybrid work environment. Employees must work in the League office for a minimum of 3 days a week and may work in a remote capacity for the remaining 2 days per week.

    Employees may elect to work in the office up to 5 days a week.
  • Flexible hours and schedule must be coordinated with your supervisor and are subject to change based on business needs.
  • No travel is required.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field OR minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience (non-profit preferred).
  • Strong account reconciliation experience and understanding of key accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Net Suite, Quick Books, and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable making phone calls.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and tackle diverse challenges creatively.
  • Commitment to professional growth and organizational values.
Physical Requirements
  • Long periodsof sitting.
  • Ability to move throughout the office and walk or get to all areas.
