Our client, an innovative manufacturer with global operations, is seeking a Senior Accountant, Manufacturing Finance to join their team in Passaic County, NJ. Following a recent overseas acquisition, the finance function is expanding and this role sits at the center of that growth.
This is a hands‑on operational finance and accounting role. You will own the month‑end close, manage consolidations across domestic and international entities, and deliver the reporting that helps leadership navigate an increasingly complex business. You'll also drive budgeting and forecasting cycles, build financial models, and translate inventory and cost data into actionable insight.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the full close cycle across domestic and international entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and multi‑entity consolidations
- Prepare and own P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and cross-border reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and oversee bank reconciliations day to day
- Build financial models to quantify risk, track performance trends, and support integration planning post‑acquisition
- Own budgeting and forecasting cycles in partnership with the Controller and senior leadership
- Produce dashboards, variance analysis, and management commentary that gives leadership a clear picture of performance
- Handle inventory accounting and cost structures in a manufacturing environment
- Translate inventory and cost data into operational financial insight for business partners
- Coordinate audits and maintain internal controls in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Assist with federal, state, local, and payroll tax compliance
- Identify and implement process improvements to automate and streamline accounting operations
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA or Master's Degree preferred
- 5–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of personally preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Solid command of manufacturing accounting fundamentals including inventory, cost structures, and intercompany activity
- GAAP fluency with hands‑on experience in audits and internal controls
- Experience building and maintaining financial models
- Advanced Excel required; experience with accounting ERP software
- Exposure to international entities or multi‑entity consolidations strongly preferred
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Hyperion, or similar platforms
