Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re partnering with a high-growth, institutional-backed real estate credit platform on a confidential search for a Senior Fund Accountant / Fund Controller–level hire.

Launched in recent years and backed by a mix of institutional capital, family offices, and high-net-worth investors, the firm has already scaled to $1B+ in AUM and continues to expand its strategy.

This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the CFO, with oversight responsibility and the opportunity to operate as a true “right hand” within a lean, entrepreneurial team.

Key Highlights
  • Exposure to Master/Feeder fund structures within a growing credit platform
  • Direct interaction with senior leadership and external partners
  • Opportunity to manage and mentor junior team members
  • Highly visible role with involvement across operations, reporting, and strategy
Responsibilities
  • Oversee preparation and review of NAV calculations across fund structures
  • Partner with fund administrators and counter parties to resolve discrepancies
  • Review and analyze remittances, deal activity, financing costs, and expenses
  • Calculate management and incentive fees
  • Lead year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
  • Review fund tax returns and K-1s
  • Support compliance initiatives and internal controls
  • Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system implementations
  • Perform data analysis and reconciliations across portfolios
Qualifications
  • ~8–12 years of experience, with strong fund accounting background (credit or alternatives preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • Experience with complex fund structures (Master/Feeder)
  • Advanced Excel skills; exposure to programming or data tools is a plus
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Northern New Jersey–based (full-time, in-office environment)
  • Competitive base + bonus structure
  • Hands‑on, high-visibility role within a scaling platform
